I recently came across a post, on Instagram, written by Keke Palmer stating that she was suffering from hormonal acne and scaring caused by PCOS. According to the Office On Women's Health,"Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a health problem that affects 1 in 10 women of childbearing age. Women with PCOS have a hormonal imbalance and metabolism problems that may affect their overall health and appearance. PCOS is also a common and treatable cause of infertility." PCOS is something that many women suffer with, however, it is not talked about. Some of the side effects, of this condition, are hormonal acne, increase of facial hair, infertility, irregular menstrual cycles, and mood swings.
In the post below, Keke Palmer’s speaks about how she has been coping-with the side effects of PCOS: hormonal acne & scarring. She states that she has been unsuccessful at finding treatments or products that can help her acne & scarring.
I’ve learned how to love the skin I have been blessed with and maintain the skin I desire to have.
As someone who also has to battle PCOS, I will say that everyday is not easy. I am constantly monitoring my skin and checking for abnormalities that may appear. Not only do I have PCOS, I also have an ongoing struggle with eczema. Two conditions that causes my skin to be very dry, which I HATE! I am a big advocate for KAAS FACE products, because it has helped me control my hormonal acne and dry skin. I am obsessed with cleansing my face! I no longer have to be self-conscious about having pimples or dark spots on my face, or even have to hide behind makeup. I’ve learned how to love the skin I have been blessed with and maintain the skin I desire to have.
I had the pleasure of meeting Keke Palmer earlier this year at the MLK Jr. Parade in Los Angeles, California. She is an amazing, kind person.
